OUR VISION:

Established in 2015, the DTC are passionate in their vision to inspire & motivate diverse audiences of people with previously limited professional theatre experiences. By sharing our high quality, accessible productions we aim to educate & excite audiences new to classic literature.

Through effective partnerships & funding support from Arts Council England, the DTC are dedicated to developing mutually beneficial relationships between schools, theatres, colleges and community projects.

2019/2020 SEASON

Since our first production in 2015, A Christmas Carol has been the cornerstone of the DTC’s output. Our unique adaptation of Dickens’ classic novella presents two actors taking on every role in a fast-paced & action-packed 60-minute production. After a last year’s huge success, we are delighted to be bringing back Ebenezer & his ghostly gang for our winter season 2019/2020.

Autumn 2019 sees the launch of our exciting new adaptation of Shakespeare’s bloodiest play, Macbeth. This Arts Council England funded project brings the Bard’s complex text to life through a high quality, digestible 60-minute performance for all abilities. Whilst staying true to the original text, the DTC’s Macbeth presents the Porter character as narrator, keeping the audience captivated throughout this famous Scottish tragedy.
